Korowai translation continued
Maybe an oral translation for an audio Bible first, or maybe the Jesus movie, or maybe spiritual songs in Korowai, or maybe devotions on Mark's Gospel? These are some of the ideas for continuing Korowai translation that I'm discussing with Suluh (SIL Papua).
Suluh is trying to get this off the ground, and during my visit to Papua I have meetings with the various stakeholders involved in this. Because there are almost no Korowai with enough education to play a role in this there is no official translation team. And the churches active in the Korowai area are not used to using the Korowai language, this is a big challenge.

Suluh is now in dialogue with the various churches about this, trying to play a facilitating role. Initially it's been decided to see how the translated materials that are already available can best be used in church services, in Bible studies and for evangelism.
Meanwhile, the churches will also be looking for Korowai people with enough training who have a desire to contribute to translation work, so that they can form a translation team. Together with this team, Suluh plans to look at what further translation work will be needed. Much depends on what the churches will do with the materials already available.
