TLC final recordings
“No problem, we have nothing to do with that, here everything is quiet.” Anton assures me. I put in a request at MAF and YAJASI for a flight to Danowage, in the Korowai area. But less than a month before, there was some unrest in the area, with several people who got killed. So before I leave I do want to make sure that everything is safe for me. I ask an evangelist in Danowage for confirmation and he too assures me that it is safe.

Anton Sayah is one of the best Korowai translators I've worked with, and when I arrive in Danowage, he is in the process of building a house. As soon as I arrive he makes himself available to work with me on the audio recordings of The Living Christ (TLC), a Global Recordings audio storybook.
I made the preliminary recordings in February, together with Barnabas Mifanop, and now it is time for the official recordings. In the past I did this together with an audio specialist from Global Recordings, but he was not available this time. So, in order to make high quality recordings myself, a fellow translator gave me a short course.

Anton listens carefully to the preliminary recordings and then retells the Bible stories in his own words. Those become the official recordings. It is God's guidance that Anton is available for this, because that is how we manage to make good quality audio recordings of all the stories in just six days of intense work.
After finishing all the recordings, I have time to give Anton a hand in building his new house. Together with Anton's family members in Danowage, we put the roof on his house in one day. Very nice to do that with such a large group.
